Permit Compliance and Mitigation

Pacific OpenSpace has extensive experience in helping private landholders, developers and public agencies fulfill their environmental permit requirements.

Erosion Control
Pacific OpenSpace installs and maintains erosion control during grading and construction.  We perform the following tasks:
    Installation of straw wattles
    Hand seeding and straw application
    Installation of blankets
    Installation and maintenance of sediment control around drains and outlets

Pacific OpenSpace works with general contractors and subcontractors to prepare finished grades and apply hydromulch.


Mitigation Plans
Often, property owners and developers are required to perform mitigation work for disturbance to natural areas .  Pacific OpenSpace prepares restoration plans and has solid relationships with qualified planning firms to develop mitigation and restoration plans for submittal to regulatory agencies.


Mitigation and Restoration
Pacific OpenSpace installs and maintains restoration projects in all plant communities.  We have successfully restored riparian zones, tidal marsh, brackish marsh, native perennial grassland, oak woodland, coastal bluff, sand dune and coastal scrub.

If a project needs custom propagation of local natives, our North Coast Native Nursery can grow the plants in the optimum container size, and have them ready for installation at the proper time.
